90% of all teacher patients choose August for their Cosmetic Surgery Procedure

• Number of teachers having cosmetic procedures in August was up to 103% year-on-year • 45% of tired teachers are opting for eye bag removal

 (PRWEB) September 10, 2009 -- INSTEAD of using time-off for a nice relaxing holiday, spending time with friends or doing a bit of DIY, teachers are increasingly considering cosmetic surgery (frequently referred to as plastic surgery procedures) and are using the school summer holidays to have their surgery.

Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group, the UK's largest cosmetic surgery company, is reporting a massive 103% increase in the number of teachers undergoing surgery compared to this time last year.

According to figures, August is the busiest month for teachers to undergo surgical procedures. Following a surge of enquiries in May and June, teachers take advantage of the long summer break to undergo procedures and recover before term begins.

Teachers normally constitute a small proportion of Transform's surgery patients. However, this year the number of cosmetic procedures booked by teachers was double that of last year (from 2.1% to 4.4%).

The most common cosmetic procedures for teachers are facelifts (2%), breast uplifts (4%), liposuction (8%), rhinoplasty (15%), breast augmentations (23%) and eye bag removal (48%).

Louise Buchanan, a 50 year old teacher from West London, who underwent both upper and under eye bag removals said: "I felt I looked tired and old-looking and my friends said it was my eye bags that were ageing me.

"I decided to treat myself and scheduled my surgery around the school holidays. I recovered relatively quickly and my pupils thought I'd just had a great holiday."

Penny Langton from Transform says, "Cosmetic surgery sees seasonal trends, and following April's surge in breast enquiries, our call centre staff were inundated with enquiries from teachers during May and June.

"As we approach summer, teachers' attention definitely turns to procedures they can undergo to improve aspects of their body or face, this is because the break provides them with enough time to recover.

"Men and women wanting any cosmetic surgery procedure must take into account the recovery times and recommended settling in periods. July and August are therefore our busiest times for teacher surgery ahead of the new school year."
